Andy Houston Chairman of the Board
Andy Houston serves as Chairman of the Board of Step 1 Recovery Resources, where he is committed to advancing the organization’s mission of helping individuals and families affected by substance use disorders access treatment, recovery support, and pathways to long-term stability.
Andy brings extensive executive leadership experience from both the private and nonprofit sectors, along with a lifelong commitment to community service. He is the co-owner of Coastal Carolina Roofing, where he has built a reputation for integrity, leadership, and investing in the communities the company serves.
Prior to relocating to South Carolina, Andy co-founded Vegas Stronger in Las Vegas, Nevada, a nonprofit organization providing integrated behavioral healthcare services for individuals experiencing addiction, mental health challenges, and homelessness. Under his leadership, the organization developed comprehensive recovery programs that included medication-assisted treatment, peer recovery support, case management, housing assistance, life-skills training, and other services designed to help individuals achieve lasting recovery and self-sufficiency.
Andy has also been an active advocate for recovery through fundraising and community outreach. As a volunteer with the Second Chance 5K, he helped secure corporate and local business sponsorships that provided critical funding for addiction recovery organizations throughout Southern Nevada. He also volunteered with Shine A Light, an outreach initiative serving individuals living in the Las Vegas underground tunnel system by providing essential supplies, connecting people with treatment resources, and offering hope to those seeking a path to recovery.
His dedication to serving vulnerable populations, expanding access to treatment, promoting housing stability, and strengthening recovery communities aligns closely with the mission of Step 1 Recovery Resources. As Chairman, Andy is focused on building strategic partnerships, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring that Step 1 Recovery Resources continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those it serves.
