Gayle Smither, Board Member

Gayle Smither serves on the Board of Directors of Step 1 Recovery Resources, where he brings the perspective of long-term sobriety and active involvement across multiple recovery communities. He regards his service as both a responsibility and an opportunity to support individuals orking to overcome substance use disorder while continuing to broaden his own understanding through engagement with diverse experiences and viewpoints.

He believes Step 1 Recovery Resources plays a critical role in expanding access to recovery by helping remove financial barriers to treatment. Gayle is committed to strengthening collaborative relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners to advance the organization’s mission of empowering individuals to achieve and sustain long-term recovery.

Now retired from a global professional career, Gayle remains actively involved in nonprofit service. He values time with his spouse and grandchildren, enjoys travel, and maintains a longstanding appreciation for anything baseball related.
